I know it's possible to decipher a serial number without access to any special apple database. The first two letters indicate where it was made. for example, CK = Cork, Ireland. The rest of the serial number shows the year and date, then production number.
I did a google but couldn't find instructions on how to figure the rest out. Does anyone have any more information on this or a link? TMA 20:59, 6 November 2005 (EST)
