Does the PRAM really contain all that information?

  • For instance, the DVD Region Setting is stored on the DVD drive.
  • And in most other Unix varients, the time zone is purely a software issue and isn't stored in the hardware.
  • Also, is the screen information really stored in the PRAM? that would make it impossible to switch displays as easily as one can right now.
