Preview is an application developed by Apple and included with Mac OS X. It is built using Cocoa, and as such gains a lot of its functionality by using Quartz and QuickTime technologies.

Features

  • According to Apple, Preview is the world's fastest PDF viewer.
  • Preview can display PDF files, as well as a large range of images formats, including JPG, GIF, PNG, TIFF, BMP, PICT and Photoshop.
  • As of Tiger, preview can take screenshots
