The PowerPC 740/750xx, commonly know as the G3, is the third generation of PowerPC microprocessors. It was introduced in November 1997, and was used in a variety of Macintosh models. It was last used by Apple in iBooks until the release of iBook G4s in October 2003. The G3 was used in the following models:
- PowerMac G3 Desktop, Mini-tower, All-in-One, Blue and White
- Macintosh Server G3 (Beige, Blue and White)
- iMac G3, iMac DV, iMac SE
- iBook (Clamshell, Dual USB)
- PowerBook G3
