Automator is a feature of Mac OS X that was introduced in Tiger (Mac OS X 10.4). It is an application bundled with the operating system designed to complete long, repetitive tasks easily.

How it works

Within Automator, one creates different Workflows. These Workflows are a collection of Actions that contain a single task. Actions are organized and sequenced within a Workflow so that when it is completed and run, the tasks will all be completed in the right order. These Workflows can also be saved to be used again and again.
