Upgrading MacBook Hard Disks

This guide explains how to upgrade the hard disk in a MacBook.

Step One
- Use a coin to turn the battery catch 90 degrees from its normal position, and remove the battery.

Step Two
- Grasp the white plastic tab attached to the hard drive and pull it to the right, removing the hard drive from the computer.
- Insert the replacement hard drive into the cradle. A Torx T9 screwdriver is required for this operation.
- Push drive and cradle in to compartment.
Note: The hard drive goes back into its compartment with the label facing down.
To finish, insert the battery, and turn on the MacBook.
