Template talk:Basedonpost
From Mac Guides
I added [[Category: Forum Posts]] so they're automatically accumulated in a category. Useful? Perhaps not, but perhaps so. --Mainstreetmark 10:25, 3 November 2005 (EST)
- I see two main advantages of categories. Firstly, they make it easier to find things to do with a certain topic. This doesn't apply here, as someone looking for, for example, a Core Image article, wouldn't think "It will be in the Forum Posts category", but might instead think "It will be in the Mac OS X category".
- Secondly, categories can group together articles that need to be worked on, for example the Stubs category. I don't think this applies either, as these articles will always be based on forum posts unless completely rewritten, and there is nothing "wrong" with being based on a forum post.
- So as the Forum Posts category doesn't satisfy either of these advantages, I see no point in having it, unless you've thought of another reason that I've missed.
- I do like the other changes you made though. --HexMonkey 22:29, 3 November 2005 (EST)
