Talk:iPod (1G)
From Mac Guides
There was a first gen 10gig iPod. It did not come with the remote. It also had the same type of scroll wheel as the original 5gig iPod.
It was the 2G 10GB iPod that came with the remote.
Also, the prices shown are what they charged for the 5gig when the 2G 10 and 20 gig iPods were released.
Originally the iPod 5gig was $399 or $499. When the 10gig 1G model was released, the 5gig was $399 and the 10gig was $499. Should also probably note that the prices are us by saying: $399 (US)
Should the iPod 1G & 2G pages be combined?
- They are different revisions. The 2G can work with Windows, while the 1G won't officially. --Mechcozmo 14:04, 24 November 2005 (EST)
- Mechcozmo, that's not right. When I got my first iPod in 2001, it was a first generation, and came with a music match jukebox and plugin. I remember getting it on that day because I had just read that iPods had recently been released that worked on XP in the previous few months or so.
- Sorry to whoever posted this above, but you are wrong. "The iPod (2nd Generation) also shipped with a wired remote, a thinner FireWire cable, and a carrying case, and perhaps most notably, introduced models designed for use with Windows." from here tells a different story. Also, this website agrees with me. Your memory is faulty, it would seem. --Mechcozmo 14:25, 11 December 2005 (EST)
