Talk:Vista Beta 2 on Macbook Pro

OS X seems to restore the EFI-Partition by itself. I only deleted the NTFS-Partition during the installation process. Vista installs and runs fluently. Then the first Boot with OS X lasts a little bit longer than normal - seems that it reorganizes the HD-Partitions by itself. No problem at all - but with version RC 1.

pferrel: I tried a different tack than the one described on the main page. I used bootcamp to create a partition and installed XP as per normal. Then later I decided to try Vista and installed it as an upgrade. It took forever, of course, but everything just worked. I didn't even have to reinstall my bootcamp Windows drivers or mess with the EFI partitiion.

As to Vista, I'm not ready to give it the OS X partition but some of the apps and Aero are worth looking at. Sure it's a Mac rip-off but there are some good ideas here. I like the blurry transparency of Aero, I like the window thumbnails that appear over the taskbar to help fins buried windows (though they do not update on minimized windows, I like the new switcher. The sidebar is interesting but I'm not sure haveing it around all the time is that useful.

I agree delete it. Eraserhead 05:47, 30 May 2008 (EDT)
