Talk:Recovering Songs from an iPod
From Mac Guides
I have originally written up most of this page. Unfortunately I write software that could commercially benefit from it so I have attempted to outline as many solutions as possible. This is a commonly asked question on the forums so it would be of benefit. --Mj1903 08:10, 16 December 2005 (EST)
Isn't this "Recovering Songs off of an iPod"?--Mechcozmo 00:51, 17 December 2005 (EST)
- That sounds like a much better name. I'll move it. --HexMonkey 03:27, 17 December 2005 (EST)
Terminal Stuff
You can do this operation virtually entirely in the GUI by just viewing Hidden Files in the Terminal, which is much simpler or using third-party software. So I'm going to remove this if noone objects. Eraserhead 10:46, 12 December 2007 (EST)
- It could perhaps be de-emphasised, but I wouldn't remove it completely. It provides a simple solution without having to download third party software or change any system settings. --HexMonkey 13:48, 12 December 2007 (EST)
True, displaying hidden files is changing a system settings. The problem is that the current article seems a bit intimidating. Eraserhead 16:40, 12 December 2007 (EST)
Recovering files from a corrupt iPod
Hi - I added how to do this using TestDisk/PhotoRec for Windows, as I have done this for friends a couple of times. This procedure should also be possible on a Mac using the same programs, but I haven't tried it. Bobnugget
