Switching Section
The switching section seems way to opinionated for a "fact" article. It seems to document a user's opinions on the usability of FF's bookmarking (which does suck!). In my opinion, that section needs to be removed, and reincarnated as a Guide. It certainly shouldn't be the top section. --Mainstreetmark 21:17, 7 November 2005 (EST)
Remove (d) first person references
I removed some first and second person references. using you and your is not only improper, it makes the guide have a lower standard of quality. There are still some "i" references throughout the article. I also removed lots of slang. Someone should remove the bias of bookmarking. One could argue that you shouldnt complain about using a mouse every once in a while (A lot of Windows programs are worse: most notably EPGY Courses (epgy.stanford.edu)) This article will hopefully be cleaned up. Maybe an admin should tag it.
- I've just done a total rewrite. It's much shorter, but I think I've included all the important points (while removing some of the more trivial points). Thoughts? --HexMonkey 17:11, 3 January 2006 (EST)
Planned Changes
This is directed to anyone viewing this and wondering if I have anymore changes planned, yes I do actually... this is from my text file and formatted mainly for my personal reference while I continue to make changes to this article. If anyone would like to jump ahead of me on this though, I'd thank you for the help as I won't be able to get back to this for about another 10-14 hours.
Add the following:
- Section:Gecko (include information on standards it supports and benchmarks including sidebar)
- Section:about:config (include information and links about editing about:config)
- Section:Extensions (include information about extensions and list of notable extensions and a link to the add-ons page and a screenshot of the add-on manager)
- Page:Greasemonkey (include information about using Greasemonkey and tie it in with main Firefox article)
- Guide:Optimizing Firefox (include information about how to get the most out of Firefox including local performance, network performance, which add-ons to use and how to select add-ons)
- Section:Security (details the security features of Firefox)
- Details:Legacy (provide details throughout the article about legacy support with older versions of Firefox and a link to older installs)
- Section:Future or Roadmap (one of those anyway, provide details about the development of Mozilla 2 and Firefox 4 as they come out)
- Section:about:mozilla (provide a screenshot as well as the quotes from about:mozilla)
