When filling out an internet form in Safari, the results of the form (a search in google, for example) typically display in the same tab.

To display the results in a new tab:

  • Press Command-Return (unless you're in a text field). "Return" often acts as the "Submit" button on an internet form. Holding down the "Command" key will display the results in a new tab.
  • Hold down "Command" when clicking the "Submit" button. This will also open the results in a new window.

Try this by using the "search" field on the left of this webpage.
