Power Mac G5 Dual Core (2005)
From Mac Guides
Apple released the Dual Core Power Mac G5s based on the IBM 970MP processor on October 19th, 2005. The 970MP processor was rumored for some time and represents the first dual-core PowerPC chip available for the Mac. Its arrival, however, was overshadowed by Apple's June announcement that they would be switching to Intel-based processors starting in mid 2006.
The Power Mac was the last Mac to be transitioned to Intel processors. On August 7, 2006 at WWDC, Apple replaced the Power Mac G5 with the Mac Pro.
