From Mac Guides
The 12" PowerBook was Apple's smallest and lightest laptop yet. Packing most of the power of the larger 17" and 15" PowerBooks into its slim 12" diagonal case the PowerBook G4 was also Apple's cheapest PowerBook with the longest battery life.
Although it was a step late in migrating from the Titanium formfactor to the new Aluminum formfactor, the 15" PowerBook has shown to be one of the best-selling PowerBooks mostly due to size, performance, and cost.
The first 17" laptop to truly be a laptop, the 17" PowerBook is a desktop replacement that is also perfectly happy on the go. However, be wary of cramped airline seats where this behemoth of a laptop may not fit as well as its smaller brethren.
