Linear Tape Open is the tape format with a very high speed/capacity ratio.
It also goes by the brand name Ultrium. LTO 3 also supports WORM for regulatory compliance like with Sarbanes-Oxley.

LTO 2: 200GB (native), 400GB (compressed).
LTO 3: 400GB (native), 800GB (compressed).

Top Speeds
Speed depends on the drive model. Half-height drives are slower.
LTO 1: 15 MB/s (native), 30 MB/s (compressed)
LTO 2: 30 MB/s (native), 60 MB/s (compressed)
LTO 3: 80 MB/s (native), 160 MB/s (compressed)
