Hyperlinking to a Dictionary Word

The Dictionary application has a launch service that lets links within a Web page point to an entry in the Dictionary. It is intended for use by Dictionary itself, which is built on the same WebKit framework used by Safari. As a side effect, it can be used within general purpose browsers.
The format is
dict:///<word>
For example, copy and paste this link into a Web browser's address bar:
- dict:///Macintosh
This protocol only works if Dictionary is already running. Otherwise, the link will simply open Dictionary and take no further action.
