  • April 2008. Munster expects Apple to advance their technology to include "complete MacBook touch with touchscreen keypad features" which could launch in 2010.
  • April 2008. 80% chance that the iPhone shortage means a new iPhone is coming.

Past Predictions

  • May 2007. Refreshed MacBook Pros and iMacs at WWDC 2007. Status: Mostly False. The MacBook Pro was refreshed a week before WWDC, The iMac wasn't refreshed until August.
  • May 2007. "Timing of this is difficult to determine, but we would expect [iTunes video rentals] sometime in 2008" Status: True This was announced at MWSF 2008.
  • December 2006.
    • A wireless iPod with touch-sensitivity and more iPhone models will become available within 6-12 months. Status: Partially true. The wireless-enabled iPod touch was introduced in September 2007, however no new iPhone models were announced.
    • iTV, new iPod, and iPod Cell Phone due at MacWorld San Francisco. Believes that the iPhone will likely come in candy-bar form factor. Status: Partially true, Apple TV and iPhone announced as MWSF 2007, but no new "plain" iPod.
  • October 2006. Two additional movie studios are planning on joining the online iTunes Store in the next 6 months. Status: True - Paramount joined in January 2007, Lionsgate in February.
  • July 2006. We expect a new wireless iPod this Fall. Status: False
  • July 2006. We do believe Apple is working to release a new/refreshed iPod in the September quarter. Status: True
