Jump to: navigation, search

The GMA 950 is an Intel integrated graphics core which was used in the MacBook, Mac Mini and the iMac (Intel). The Mac Mini was the first product to gain this graphics core on February 28th, 2006 at a media event. The move came as a surprise to many and users criticized the decision to include the GMA 950 as it has poor graphics performance when compared to low-end dedicated graphics cards. The GMA X3100 was the GMA 950's successor, except in the Mac Mini, which was updated straight to the NVidia GeForce 9400M.

Replacement

In the MacBook, the GMA 950 was replaced with the GMA X3100 in October 2007. It was replaced completely in March 2009 with the upgrade of the iMac and Mac Mini to the NVidia GeForce 9400M.
