Changing Keyboard Shortcuts

Starting in Panther and continuing into Tiger, you are able to customize many system-level and application shortcuts.
To view or change system-level Keyboard shortcuts:
- Open the Keyboard & Mouse Preference Pane
- Click on the Keyboard Shortcuts tab
- To change a shortcut, double click on the existing shortcut, and press the keys that make up your new shortcut.
- If you make a mistake, click '"Restore Defaults to return the keyboard shortcuts to the factory defaults.
To change an application specific shortcut:
- Open the Keyboard & Mouse Preference Pane
- Click on the Keyboard Shortcuts tab
- Click the Add button (looks like a Plus sign)
- Select the application from the dropdown in the panel
- Enter in the menu item, exactly as it appears in the application (it's a text match)
- Press the keys that make up the new shortcut.
- Click Add to save changes
