The Apple Wireless Mouse is an optical mouse that uses the Bluetooth wireless protocol to connect to a computer. Its Apple model number is A1015.
In form, it is similar to the earlier, USB Apple Pro Mouse, although with batteries installed it is heavier. It has a single mechanical button, comprising the entire top surface of the mouse. It is powered by two AA-size batteries; a pair of Energizer-brand lithium batteries. The tension of the button can be adjusted by means of a toggle inside the battery cover. A sliding cover protects the optical sensor and actuates an off switch.
Through the use of standard Bluetooth protocols, it can be used under any operating system that supports Bluetooth human input devices.
