Apple announced the Apple Wireless Keyboard at the Apple Expo in September 2003. It uses Bluetooth technology to connect with Bluetooth enabled computers. In 2007, the keyboard was redesigned with a thin aluminum enclosure.

Aluminum Wireless Keyboard
Apple released a redesigned wireless keyboard in August 2007. It featured an ultra-thin design with keys reminiscent of the MacBook. As with its previous counterpart, the keyboard does not act as a USB hub. Unlike the original wireless keyboard, this one has no number pad.
Original Wireless Keyboard
Apple released their first wireless keyboard in September 2003.
Features
- The keyboard can work up to 10 meters (33 feet) away from the computer.
- 128-bit encryption prevents transmissions from being intercepted maliciously.
- Uses 3 AA batteries (ships with Lithium batteries).
- On/Off Switch
- 16-function keys, full numeric keypad, document navigation keys and inverted-T arrow keys.
- Audio controls and optical drive eject keys.
Notes
This keyboard does not function as a USB hub, unlike other Apple keyboards. There are no USB connectors.
System Requirements
Requires a Bluetooth enabled Macintosh (either built-in or using the qualified D-Link DBT-120 USB Bluetooth Adapter (Hardware version B2 or later. Older D-Link DWB-120M adapters are not supported). Mac OS X, v10.2.6 or higher required.
