Apple's online Refurbished store offers decent discounts on refurbished Macs and iPods, which have the full new Apple warranty.
Inventory in the Refurb store comes and goes rapidly; your best bet is to check the Refurb store early in the morning in your country.
Apple's Refurb stores can be accessed by visiting your region's store, and clicking the "Special Deals" section. In the US and UK stores, these both require a scroll down the page. The US store shows its link on the left, while the UK's is placed on the right.
Get a good idea of what you want and at what price, and be ready to take action on it quickly when your model becomes available. Items sold are usually removed from the Refurb store within a few minutes of order confirmation, so it's unusual to see a product listed which is no longer available.
